Anonim

The word left comes from the Basque, formed from "esku" which means hand and from the Celtic "kerros" which means crooked, resulting in "ezkerra", therefore it can be said that according to this left means "crooked hand" or " clumsy hand ”. This term, like its counterpart, has several meanings; generally when speaking of the left it refers to the limb of the human being that is positioned on the part or side where the heart is arranged; also this meaning is given to the direction or situation of something that is on this side corresponding to the heart of a person.

In politics it is where the left refers to the group of people who support a doctrine or ideology that defends progressive social and economic transformations, which are opposed to conservative ideas. These inclinations are attributed as the political left, where the search for and promoting social equality is considered fundamental through circumstantial collective rights called civil rights before fully individual or private interests, and a conservative and traditional perception of a society that the political right is personified through the opposite.

These political leanings on the right and left were born at the time of the French Revolution when the vote was carried out in the National Constituent Assembly in September 1789, where the proposal of an article of the new constitution was discussed; there they exposed the absolute vote of the king to the laws approved by the future Legislative Assembly.
