Limit is a term from the Roman word "limes" and refers, in general, to an established point, either physically or psychologically and that cannot be crossed. Normally, the connotation of this word resides in the use given in the geographical field, in addition to that which implies the implementation of lines or situations that should not be overcome under any circumstances.
When speaking of the equitable division of territorial portions, the limit usually acts as a determinant, provided mainly so that the amount of space that a certain location occupies can be distinguished. This can be seen in the fractions that the continents have, called countries, and which also have their own appropriate territorial distribution. In this way the governments of these regions can concentrate on solving the problems that occur in much more detail. In mathematics, it is understood as the point to which a value approaches followed, in turn, by a series of parameters.
As for the restrictions, the limits are species of prohibited thresholds, since they break the rules of social behavior or they will refer to damaging the integrity of some people. In society, a series of codes are imposed that mold the individual to act according to its doctrines and never develop attitudes “out of control”. On a psychological level, however, it is seen more as a series of conditions in place when it is time to reprimand a person. Likewise, sadomasochism practitioners define a series of limits when infringing injuries, to avoid serious accidents.
