Lyric is defined as a genre of literature in which it is more directed to the description of the sentimental picture of the protagonist of the work, in order to generate the same sensations or feelings to the readers or viewers of the work, that is, It is a type of literature where the emotions of the members of said piece are transmitted to its reading public, spectator, listener as the case may be. Lyrical works are constantly expressed in verses (conjugation of words that share the same pronunciation sound, rhymes) these are what are commonly known as poems, however the lyric can also be described in prose (they differ from verses for these they do not rhyme).
It is given the name of lyric thanks to a stringed instrument called a "lyre", this was the one used for poetry recitals in ancient times. Lyrical works are usually subjective in nature, they are described in the first person thus reflecting the experiences of the author, resembling the writing of a diary. Generally lyrical works have four aspects that make them up which are: the lyrical speaker, the author is identified with this nameof the work who expresses his experiences and at the same time his feelings caused by the described event, in the same way another important part is the lyrical object, this would be the situation in which the author finds himself where he expresses his feelings, another relevant aspect is the lyrical motif, this being the subject of literature, it can be love, family, hatred, revenge, among others; Finally, the lyrical attitude can be described, this would be the demeanor or behavior taken by the author to make the description of his feelings.
A lyric can be classified according to the number of syllables that make up the verses of a complete work, in this way it is indicated as a minor work to those lyrical literatures that its verses are composed of a number of syllables between two and eight syllables, While it is cataloged as a major work those lyrics of which the verses are made up of a number between nine and more syllables.
