Local area network, is a group of computers that only belong or are connected in the same area or small work area, these networks were born from a need to be connected to several users at the same time, because it was a way of share the same information or the same programs and devices at the same time, thus to be able to send this information from one place to another but within the same service center, thus sharing the same internal communication line.

This interconnection is applied to personal computers, in a variety of offices with cubicles, companies and factories allowing two or more machines to have the same information stored together with the same work programs, its advantages in the labor market is that it enables the increase of the development of teamwork, sharing the basic information on all the PCs of a company, allowing access to any employee at any time, increasing the capacities of its resources, since the information changes at every moment in the working days and more if it is a mass production company having shift employees.

Its disadvantage is that no matter how much interface it has, its range is limited, so the compatible computers, machines and equipment must be within an average geographically speaking range. The types of connection networks are: the ring network, the star network, the bus network, the tree network, the public and private man networks.
