The word legacy comes from the Latin legatus and means or refers to the idea of delegating, of passing an idea or capacity to another person. In everyday life, this term is used to designate what a person, company, institution, among others, can receive as a reward or gift from those who had before him.
A legacy can be of a visible type or not, everything will depend on each case. For example, the visible legacy would be a ring that a person leaves to his successors for having great importance and sentimental value. However, a legacy can also be the value of honesty that a father leaves his daughter or that a group of people transmit to others when the latter take their place in the same organization. So the legacy is conceived as an idea of transmission of values, goods or elements that are considered important for one or another of those that make up the chain.
When speaking of legacy, it basically refers to issues that have to do with the social and cultural, but not with the biological, since mostly for that branch it is using the word inheritance. A legacy can be composed of material elements or symbolic issues such as values, traditions, ways of acting, ways of thinking, among some others. The legacy is very important, since whoever receives it will mark their identity in the future. It is necessary that the legacy that someone receives from their predecessors will be saying much more to a person than to any other, since it is probably linked to their identity, family history, customs, among others.
