The Lesbianism is the social trend in which women are attracted sexually and lovingly by other women. The term makes direct reference to homosexuality between women which is commonly called that, however it is not wrong to call a lesbian woman "Homosexual" since this is a generic term to describe people who have relationships with those of the same sex.. Lesbianism is by definition the reference to homosexual women. History shows us a series of taboos around the subject, but I consider that female homosexuality has been a more repressed subject, since societies that profess religions centered on scriptures that do not allow this kind of attitudes have been given the task of not accept these people.
Lesbianism according to its etymology comes from the culture of Greece, because Lesbos is an island where a poet called Sappho lived, she made reference in her work to pagan rituals and festivals where only women did their thing in sexual acts and Carnales, Safo spoke of love between women and for that reason she was condemned and her poetry mostly lost. In another vein, sexologists consider that homosexuality is just a social condition, totally unrelated to some pathology in the form of disease as thought in ancient times.
Lesbianism as a united movement in search of freedom and the same rights of heterosexual people (marriage for example) follow acceptance precepts dictated by the institutions that protect the rights of humanity, regardless of race, creed or sexual condition. Lesbians are qualified persons to perform any function within society, however they are rejected for not complying with the stereotype established by the religions of the day. Homosexuality and especially lesbianism have been rejected in society since the foundation of history, this behavior has been and is currently by some extreme cultures punished even with death, as it does not respect the precepts established by the guidelines of the Bible that follow.
