It comes from the origin "limbus", according to Christianity it is the place where the souls of those who die as a child without having received the sacrament of baptism go. In the bible limbo is referred to as the place where the lost souls of the patriarchs of old and of the holiness awaiting the salvation of humanity. In the case of children, when they die without being baptized, they wander dragging the so-called original sin despite not having incurred sins for themselves and cannot be judged. In the case of the patriarchs, it is the place where the souls of the saints who died before redemption by crucifixion had been, being saved by Jesus Christ after their death.
However, in Latin America, the phrase "being in limbo" is colloquially known to a person who is absolutely distracted without any iota of attention, due to what happens around them, usually those people who have no knowledge of any specific matter or a specific matter that affects you directly.
Limbo is also determined as something that is on the edge or the limit of something, especially at the end of a dress. In the case of anatomy, the limbus is used to refer to some part of the human body, for example, nail limbus, alveolar limbus, etc. In the case of astronomy, there is the stellar limb which is the edge in the image of a specific star that appears less bright than its central part. In the case of instruments, the limbus is a plate with an engraved scale that is used to determine the location of a moving index in different devices.
In the area of literature it is used for the terms that now occupy us not only as a space for the stories told but also as the title in various works, such as the case of one of the most important works of the 20th century, written by English Aldous Huxley "Brave New World".
