The Middle East is a region located on the Asian continent, specifically between the Mediterranean Sea and the Indian Sea. In this region humanity took its first steps through ancient civilizations such as Babylon and Persia. In this territory the three most important religions of the world originated: Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The majority of the world's population considers these lands as holy land.
Regarding its limits, there are experts who consider that the Middle East region has no real limits, since they consider that only the countries located in the extreme west of Asia belong to this territory. However, there are others who say that due to their proximity to Africa and that because they share culture, countries like Libya and Egypt belong to the Middle East; The same is true of Turkey, a nation that for some belongs to Europe and for others to the Middle East.
Here are the countries that officially make up the Middle East: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Gaza Strip, West Bank, Qatar, Syria, Yemen, Cyprus, Egypt, Iran, Turkey.
As already mentioned, in the Middle East there are several religions, however the majority of the population belongs to the Muslim religion, then there is the Christian and the Jewish. The predominant language in the region is Arabic, although English, French, German and Hebrew are also spoken as the official language in Israel.

The Middle East has an arid and semi- arid climate, distinguished by low rainfall and high temperatures. In the areas near the coast, the climate is less dry and with a high level of humidity. In the region the desert landscape predominates. The rivers in this territory are few, the most important being the Tigris and the Euphrates, which have never dried up. As for the relief, it is made up of plateaus and limited by mountains.
At present the physical geography of the area has been altered, especially in the areas occupied by US troops where the main oil exporting cities are located.
