The word meningococcemia or purpura fulminans, is a disease produced by various types of "neisseria meningitidis" which is known as "meningococcus", because it is a " diplococcal " and " Gram negative " bacteria, in which diplococcal is a bacteria characterized by being associated cocci creating pairs, and the "Gram negative" are two lipid membranes in which they are located in a "peptidoglycan" or "murein" cell wall.
These bacteria are frequently in the respiratory tract of an entity without producing visible signs of the disease, because they can be transmitted from individual to individual, becoming asymptomatic carriers, which is when they have recovered from a disease or disorder in which they no longer it presents any type of symptoms, the epidemic occurs mainly in cold times and early spring.
