Mint is an aromatic plant that is widely used in the gastronomy field, as well as for the manufacture of products used in homes and hygiene. This is characterized by having a flavor that gives the individual the sensation of freshness. This plant is part of the Labiadas family, which are indigenous to the areas adjacent to the Mediterranean, its scientific name is Mentha piperita, in ancient times it was widely used for medicinal purposes, since it has great therapeutic properties to treat cases of pain related to the skin, the digestive system and the respiratory system.

This plant is native to the central regions of the Asian continent and also of the Mediterranean, it is grouped within the perennial herbaceous and can reach a height that exceeds one meter in height. Regarding its structure, it has underlying rhizomes, the leaves have an elongated shape and are arranged in an opposite way, on the other hand, its florescence has a pair of lips with two pairs of lobes.

Due to its fresh aroma, it is widely used in different branches of the industry, therefore in recent years, its crops have increased considerably since this means a very good economic income. However, it is necessary that a series of steps and requirements be met so that it has a correct development, such as that it has a good water irrigation, since the requirements are quite high.

It is widely used as a medicinal plant since it has great properties, among which the following stand out: anti-inflammatory, digestive, mucolytic, analgesic, antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-flu, decongests the respiratory tract, etc. Mint can be used both internally and externally, the latter can be applied to baths, poultices, vapors, among others. For its part, when applied internally, a mint-based infusion should be made, if as it can also be used in tinctures.

In gastronomy it is used as an ingredient in sauce, it is also used as a base for creams, with which cakes are filled or even as part of the decoration of any dish, whether sweet or salty.
