The nose is defined as the part that protrudes from the face of humans and some animals, it is located between the eyes and the mouth, it has two openings in the lower part that allow breathing and smelling. It is part of the respiratory system, and it is the organ of smell. In all vertebrates, the nasal cavities are connected through the roof of the mouth with the pharynx, forming what are the nasal orifices, allowing the olfactory function to be fulfilled in addition to serving the respiratory tract.
The nose is made up of several parts: the nasal septum, the fins, the nostrils, and the roots of the nose hairs. The nasal cavities are lined with blood vessels, in addition to having mucus, whose function is to conserve moisture within these cavities. This mucosa guarantees the heating and filtration of the breathed air.
The nasal septum is the one that vertically separates the nostrils, it is made up of bone, cartilage and a mucous lining. The fins or nasal turbinates, these are three and among their functions is to moisten, each turbinate is known as upper, middle and lower turbinate.
Among the main functions of the nose is to: filter the air, heat it and moisten it, removing impurities capable of generating irritation in the mucosa of the respiratory tract. Capturing smells and improving the perception of the sense of taste. For people it is very important as it contributes to speech.
The nose is a protrusion that gives people a certain style, and according to its shape they can be classified as: Aquiline nose, this type of nose is very easy to recognize, it is characterized by its curved shape and because the nasal openings they are very marked. Straight nose, is one in which the nasal bone does not have bulge.
Small nose, is one that, as its name indicates, is small in size and in some cases the tip is up. Large and thick nose, it is one of great size, with also large holes and a volume that can be easily distinguished.
A turned up nose is one whose shape is arched upwards. A flat nose is one that is excessively wide, with a bone that in some cases is long and in others, short.
