The term Official has several uses and applications. It all depends on where it comes from directly, whether it is from the state or from a recognized authority, an official bulletin, an official statement, official school, official entity. A person who officially under the orders of a boss, studies and prepares the administrative part of the business in some types of office, such as lawyers, notaries, customs, etc.
In everything that comes from the state or a public body, for example, a document, a title, an act, among others, it is designated as an officer. That is why this term is closely related to the public and it is common for the concepts of public and official to be used synonymously.
The word official is also used to refer to that which has the support and recognition of the state or of an organism or organization that has the power to authorize it.
The officer, in general, is responsible for giving orders, guiding and instructing the non-commissioned officers or other lower members of the hierarchy. In everyday parlance, however, the term is generally used to refer to any uniformed person belonging to a security force.
Likewise, in canon law we find a reference for this word, the officer is a judge who will have canonical situations and issues in charge.
And in the military field is where we also find a very generalized use of this word that concerns us, since this is the name given to the military officer who has a title that varies from that of lieutenant or second lieutenant to that of any another that is ahead, even that of captain, either in the Armed Forces of a Nation or in the Security Forces.
In some countries a Compliance Officer is the person who verifies the existence, sufficiency and effectiveness of the mechanisms designed to prevent money laundering.
On the other hand, Official Gazette was the name given to the newspaper of the Government of Spain for many years; In this newspaper all the provisions were placed so that they would be public knowledge; It began to be published weekly in the mid-seventeenth century and consists of four pages.
