The world tourism organization is an intergovernmental body that deals with tourism at all levels and aspects, it was established on January 2, 1975 by the transformation that UIOOT underwent, the International Union of Official Tourism Organizations that began its functions as a non-governmental entity in the year 1925 in The Hague, created only in its technical nature promoting tourism as an economic, labor, social and cultural benefit of the nations.
UNWTO encourages governments to assume their important and relevant role in tourism that goes hand in hand with the private sector, local authorities together with non-governmental organizations helping these countries around the world to minimize the negative consequences and maximizing the positive benefits of tourism, for the local, national and international environment of societies, thereby seeking economic growth using a new form of employment, while continuing to protect the environment and what would be its cultural heritage in full peace a secure prosperity and, above all, respect for universal human rights. The world tourism organization has a code of ethicsfor tourism that makes the channeling of technology transfers work with international cooperation, stimulating actions between the public and private sectors. The world tourism organization has a beautiful message that says "Tourism is wealth for the human being as a person, for the family, for the community, for the country and especially for the whole world"
