The word papichulo represents one of the new terms used by women to refer to handsome men, especially if they are their partners. A papichulo is a sexy boy, with a good body, who dresses in fashion. It is valid to note that this word has recently been accepted by the dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy RAE, who defines it as: "a man who, due to his physical attractiveness, is an object of desire."
Papichulo is considered a common and vulgar word, where the term "daddy" and the term "cool" are combined. Daddy, it's how women affectionately call their husbands, boyfriends or lovers; while "cool" refers to the style of that person, if he dresses well and in fashion.
It should be noted that this term is widely used by singers (mostly of the reggaeton genre) in their songs, some of them are: Lorna, a Reggae singer in Spanish and reggaeton of Panamanian origin, who performs a song called "papichulo". Similarly, the Factoría group has in its repertoire a song letter called with the same word.
In countries like Brazil, this word is also used, widely used in jargon to refer to a cute and attractive dad.
In Colombia this word is given another meaning, for Colombians a cool daddy is a kind of pimp (a person who incites another to engage in prostitution, benefiting from it).
In Puerto Rico, the word papichulo is frequently used to refer to a handsome man.
In Mexico, Panama and Argentina, they also use this word to refer to handsome and sexy men.
