Partiality is a term that denotes a certain position that may not be fair or equitable. In the judicial context this term is frequently used, for example when a partial judgment is originated; This represents a very serious way of acting, since when administering justice, one must be totally fair and equitable; since otherwise, an injustice would be incurred that could bring negative consequences to the life of an individual.
Partiality within the administration of justice represents an offense; since the judge who allows himself to be guided by it, does not rule according to what is alleged and proven, but does so by what is already preconceived and individually desired. Bias is condemnable when it supports injustice or judges positions and rewards favorably.
In the sphere of opinions, bias has to do with subjectivity; a person who is interested in something will have a more subjective point of view, this may not be bad, as long as it does not negatively influence the development of a certain issue. In this way, when a person acts or thinks with partiality, he will be in favor of only a part of reality and will appreciate it according to his convenience. This behavior is the opposite of impartiality, which precisely means the opposite, to proceed with objectivity, without having any type of prejudice.
In general, biasing for something or for someone may not be fair to everyone. In a conflict, for example, it is necessary to be objective when judging, since if a fault is not being committed, that is why in those cases a person outside the parties involved is always chosen, so that they can determine who has or not the reason.
