The term homeland comes from the Latin "homeland" which refers to the country of origin or place where the roots of an individual are found. The dictionary of the real Spanish academy defines the word homeland as the homeland or adopted land, structured as a nation, to which man feels linked or united either by emotional, legal and historical ties. In other words, homeland is that place, country, nation, town, land or region in which a certain person was born or to which they feel linked for legal, emotional or historical reasons. Therefore, the homeland can be the place of birth, the town of their ancestors or the land where an individual settled from a certain point in their life, usually from childhood.
Since homeland is a feeling, as mentioned above, a person can adopt or welcome a homeland or nation other than the one they were born from, and feel closely united and linked to its customs, culture, traditions, and willing to strive and fight for your progress. In the political and military sphere, it can be seen that many of them struggle to defend and preserve their rights as patriots, and they do so with great pride and a deep value to the nation in which they live and were born.
