PDF documents (portable format documents) are a series of files that are created and edited in a format designed to store different types of complex virtual data (images, sounds, bitmaps, text…). It is the most used platform for processing and storing information in much of the world, due to the simplicity with which it works and the quality it offers to the consumer.
Its creator, the company Adobe Systems, launched the initial version in 1991, with a slightly lower impact than estimated. In 1993, a PDF viewer and editor was added to the company's catalog, so that the individual who controls the information provided on this platform would have much wider access.
In addition, it emerged as one of the ideas belonging to a concept designed by one of the founders of the company, which was characterized by the desire to manage an office whose papers were only digitally. At first, the use of the application was not as popular as it is now, since there was the PostScript format that was much more widely used; however, with the passage of time and improvement he became the fittest.
PDF files are characterized by the option that they can be read from any type of device and the software that it uses does not affect it in any way. Similarly, Acrobat, the official viewer, can be installed in operating systems such as Windows, OS X Mac and GNU / Linux. Documents can be traditional (text only) or interactive; Furthermore, they are highly accurate when printed and when transported from one system to another they do not undergo any change. Today, various programs have been created to aid in the editing of this type of document and are not related in any way to Adobe Systems.
