Persia is the name of the ancient and historic kingdom Iran, a nation or area of the Middle East and east of Mesopotamia, an empire that was historically considered one of the largest, which occupied a vast territory that included the current territories of Iran, Iraq, a part of Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Yemen, Oman, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and others. This was considered for Europeans a country with which it was possible to trade, for others it was a land to evangelize or preach. Also for centuries it maintained its power as it was a military and political power of antiquity.
Persian is a term that can be used to name both the empire and the culture of the ancient Persian region. It is also the name of the native language of Iran, Afghanistan and some Asian regions. The Persians, due to the low temperatures, made rugs to protect themselves and these were recognized for their various designs as a textile element of antiquity.
Persian culture once played an important role in the development of civilization with respect to culture, commerce and education.
