It is similar to polyurethane, but urea is the dominant bond that shapes the final product. During some experiments, it has been possible to create a hybrid compound, which contains and polyurethane, but this has a very different behavior from the substances that compose it.

The history of Polyurea is widely related to the creation of polyurethane. This was the result of the research of Otto Bayer, who was one of the first experts to use this type of preparation, so that over time it was marketed in the form of foam. But it was in 1969 that a technique called RIM was developed, which resulted in Polyurea.

In the 70's, experimentation with the new substance began in many ways; In the 80's, some time after having perfected the obtaining technique, the product began to be commercialized.

Polyurea can be classified as aromatic (economical, resistance to abrasion, considerable range of mechanical properties) and aliphatic (expensive, resistance to high temperatures and UV fading). It is used to cover different types of surfaces, being considered one of the most effective products for this type of activity.
