Pollution is now a commonplace term, which we are often hearing due to climate changes and changes in the entire environment that makes no one indifferent to it anymore. We hear about the various forms of pollution and read about it through the media. Air pollution is one such form that refers to air pollution, independently inside or outside. A physical, biological or chemical alteration of the air in the atmosphere can be termed as pollution. It occurs when harmful gases, dust, smoke enters the atmosphere and makes it difficult for plants, animals, and humans to survive as the air becomes dirty.
Air pollution can be further classified into two sections: visible air pollution and invisible air pollution. Another way of looking at air pollution could be any substance that has the potential to hinder the atmosphere or the well-being of living things that survive in it. The sustenance of all living things is due to a combination of gases that collectively make up the atmosphere; The imbalance caused by increasing or decreasing the percentage of these gases can be detrimental to survival.
The ozone layer considered crucial for the existence of ecosystems on the planet is being depleted due to increased pollution. The global warming, a direct result of the increase in the imbalance of gases in the atmosphere has become known as the greatest threat and challenge that the modern world has to overcome in an attempt to survive.
In order to understand the causes of air pollution, several divisions can be made. Mainly air pollutants can be caused by primary sources or secondary sources. Contaminants that are a direct result of the process can be called primary contaminants. A classic example of a primary pollutant would be sulfur dioxide emitted by factories
Secondary contaminants are those caused by the mixing and reactions of primary contaminants. The smog created by interactions of several primary pollutants is known as a secondary contaminant.
