The Nobelpriset, better known in the Spanish language as the Nobel Prize, is the annual award given to people who have made great contributions to the sciences and humanities, in the specific areas of physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, Peace and the Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel. This was delivered, for the first time, in the year 1901; This arose as part of the last will of Alfred Nobel, a chemist, engineer and inventor, who was able to constitute around 335 artifacts, the most prominent being dynamite; This modified his will in 1895 decided to modify his will, indicating that some prizes were created with his fortune.
Every December 10, a ceremony is held in Sweden, where the winners are awarded the corresponding prizes in medicine, physics, chemistry and economics; those chosen as winners are chosen by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The Nobel Peace Prize, for its part, is awarded in the city of Oslo, in a completely different event; the winners are chosen by the Karolinska Institute. Alfred Nobel decided, some years before his death, modify his will and direct 94% of his immense fortune to the creation of a foundation that would award annual awards to people who have made important contributions, this decision was motivated by an obituary that he read when the death of his brother occurred, and who he was confused with Alfred, where it was announced that "the merchant of death had died", referring to the artifacts he invented.
Each winner is presented with a series of awards: a diploma, from the hands of the King of Sweden and, in the case of Peace, by the president of the Norwegian Nobel Committee; a medal, designed by Erik Lindberg, containing Alfred Nobel on one of the backs, along with his date of birth and death, as well as the inscription "Discovered to help improve knowledge"; finally, they are given a certain amount of money, so that they can live comfortably and develop more in their areas of study.
