The city of Quito is located in the Republic of Ecuador, this region being the capital of that country; its official name is “ San Francisco de Quito ” and it is the oldest South American city in the world, it has a number of inhabitants of approximately 1,600,000 within what are urban parishes while in the central district there are 2,000.000 inhabitants, this classifies it as the second city with the most population within the Ecuadorian limits, as well as the capital with the largest economy in South America.
Quito is first in the list of "Cultural Heritage of Humanity" described by Unesco in 1978, this place is shared with Krakow which is a city located in Poland; This is thanks to its physical attractiveness made up of a mixture between urban and old, this city is full of hillsides, wide avenues, streams, hills, low valleys and alleys that is immersed in the cultural art of its inhabitants.
According to this, Quito is made up of three areas delimited by their purely architectural contrasts: North (modern Quito), where important urban structures were built that work mostly in the commercial field; Downtown (old Quito) which is made up of colonial buildings where religious processions and cultural events take place, finally there is the South zone, in which they are absorbed by youth cultural interaction.
This city is not only culturally significant but also plays an important role in the political sphere, this is because it was declared in 2008 as the center for official meetings between the countries of South America, under the mandate of the "Union of South American Nations" or by its initials Unasur. Quito is subdivided under a total of 32 parishes belonging to the urban sector, which is in turn divided into numerous neighborhoods; Due to its character as the capital of Ecuador, it becomes the main venue for all those governmental, financial and cultural organizations in the country, being then the main commercial and administrative entity of the nation.
