Today's rural world is not homogeneous, it is not all the same or similar. There is a modern rural world and integrated into the export economy, which has developed from the agro-industry, with the location of food, fruit and vegetable processing plants.

The modernization of agriculture effectively reduces labor needs in the field, and causes what is known as a rural exodus, which is a phenomenon of migration of rural populations to the cities, in search of jobs offered both in industry and as in the tertiary sector.

On the other hand, a new economic alternative has been developed for agricultural producers, which is known as "rural tourism", its objective is to offer visitors a personalized contact, to give them the opportunity to enjoy the physical and human environment of the areas rural areas, and to the extent possible, to participate in the activities, traditions and lifestyle of the local population.
