Scam is a word of English origin, whose translation is scam or scam, its meaning leads to a story or situation, in which it is said that one or more individuals deliver an amount of money to the scammer or "Scamer" with the promise of receiving in return a generally economic benefit (some type of prize).
Currently the term Scam is used to refer to frauds that occur through the Internet, either through email or a web page. When it is given by email it is almost always by sending chains, for example, the Scamer deceive the people who receive them, indicating that they will be making a donation to a charity and in return they will obtain either travel, vacations, lottery prizes, etc. And in the case of web pages they place a notice or advertisement where they offer products or services that do not really exist and in the same way offer any type of attractive benefits for users of the network. Victims enter their bank details in web applications, and that's where the scam takes place. Another very common way of Scam is offering a comfortable job from home where they will be well paid "employees" and it turns out that the company is fictitious.
One way to guard against being scammed through so-called Scams is not to enter personal or banking information on pages that are not totally reliable for you, the way to know that it is a real page is that you enter its URL yourself. Another way is to remove unwanted emails from your tray, you should not provide any key for the web services you use such as emails, social networks, bank accounts, etc. Since none of these services requests a password change once your account has been created, you should be aware if you receive any type of e-mail where they make this request, the recommendation is to delete it immediately, since it may be a Scam.
Special care must be taken in the notices that we find, especially on social networks, not to click lightly to enter them since social networks have become the most common mode of Scam.
