A Sign is generally a graphic representation that indicates or has a purpose as a guide in any path or function. A signal corresponds to the functions of an indicator, since a signal reflects the status of the operation being carried out. The presence of signals in any action implies the staging of icons, images and exercises in order to inform what the situation is. The convention of images with the habit of the human mind allows the signals to be part of a sensory stimulus, that is, the way a signal is perceived does not have to be entirely visual.
A sign that is part of everyday life is the traffic sign, this consists of indicators arranged on the roads through which vehicular traffic and pedestrians circulate, this in order to inform the general public which is the way that they must circulate on the streets, in order to avoid an accident, maintain an established order in the city and thus guarantee optimal traffic flow. The signals as an application are a purely sensory tool, since they are perceived with the senses and are analyzed and associated. Sometimes the signals do not correspond directly to the action to be performed, but convention and custom allow a correct interpretation of these. For example:the stop signal, which indicates to the recipient that he must stop his vehicle or his walk, consists of a hand placed with the fingers thus up, showing a palm of the hand perpendicular to the ground.
It is also called by way of idiom and ease Signal to the transmission (reception and emission) of data by telephone network companies, both mobile and local. We refer to the signal as the ability of different devices to perceive the data necessary to perform their communication functions. In some cases we refer to the signal as the coverage area that the device has, "There may be signal there, because here in the office there is no"
