When we refer to food safety, we aim to bring people closer to food and its biological benefit. It is thought that a house is in a condition of food security at the moment that its inhabitants permanently have food with the necessary quantity and quality according to their physical requirements. There are two descriptions of food safety that are frequently implemented, which are those proposed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, its acronym in English FAO, and the one provided by the United States Department of Agriculture. in English USDA.
Food security is found when the members maintain direct contact at all times, whether physically, socially or economically, to enough food, convenient and nutritious to meet their nutritional requirements and training preferences for their well-being.
In the food security of a family it is equivalent that all the members of it have access at all times to a necessary amount of food to lead a completely healthy life. The food security of a household implies having a ready supply of nutritionally appropriate and safe food and having the guaranteed capacity to obtain referred food permanently and in a generally admissible way, without having the obligation to depend on the supply of emergency food, search in garbage dumps, stealing or using some other resistance methodology.
The stages of food security start from the condition of food security to that of advanced famine. Famine and hunger are both fixed on food insecurity. Endemic food insecurity causes a high percentage of vulnerability to hunger, for this reason it is important to strengthen the food security of families and in the entire society in order to combat this vulnerability.
The expression of food security encompasses four fundamental extensions, the first is the face-to-face availability of food for all the inhabitants of the population, which depends on the presence and leveling of production. Secondly we have the scope that can be had to food where an adequate political approach is ensured to achieve the proposed food security goals. Thirdly, we have the use of food, this refers to the way in which the body benefits the different nutrients from food. Finally we have the stability that can be had when the food arrives safely and constantly.
