A trail is a road or path that is characterized by being very small and narrow and that are generally found in rural areas. The trails allow there to be a connection between small towns, therefore they are considered secondary roads and due to this they are not paved or have signs.
As they are very narrow dirt roads, vehicular passage is restricted, however people can travel this road on foot, on motorcycles or bicycles. In ancient times the trails communicated one population with another, using horses, donkeys or simply going on foot.
It is important to note that even though these roads are not traveled frequently, you must be very careful with them since some trails are not only very narrow, but also have many curves, so you should not move at high speeds.
Currently the trails have become routes, widely used by tourists to reach different places of interest. Even these roads are used especially for the practice of a tourist sport called active tourism, whose purpose is to find different adventures in a natural context.
Within the so-called active tourism, there is hiking, which is a type of mountaineering, which does not involve competition and is usually done on the trails. The purpose of this kind of practice is to be able to bring people closer to nature, trying to get them away from all that city noise that it does is fill people with stress.
