It is what characterizes an act, an event or a ceremony, derived from the solemn word which gives firmness, validity or commitment to an event. It can also be defined as the set of legal requirements of different instruments that are considered public and solemn. For the Catholic Church the feast is a celebration of great importance and majesty, such as the celebration of Corpus Christi.
The solemnity of an act of any kind is celebrated once a year or for a whole year. In the legal field, it refers to the fact that every formal act must be accompanied by all its valid and firm requirements in the face of such fact. This term can be used to define acts of great formality, interesting and majestic, either because a celebrity is paid homage, for some class or exhibition and for appreciating a place or site respectively. Highly valued government, ecclesiastical, and legal officials as well as artists, designers, among others, are always immersed in solemn events or spaces due to their level of importance that characterizes them.
When a wedding or marriage takes place, the solemnity of the legal act comes into play since it is formal and firm before the law and in the celebration it is made clear through the protocol that is followed in it. In the same vein, the solemnity comes to mark the structure according to the established rules and according to the hierarchies that are applied in the programming and development of different acts.
