It is known with the term theism to the belief that there is a God who was responsible for creating the universe, for this reason they recognize him as the creator of heaven and earth, theistic people or believers in God also affirm that not only was in charge of its creation, but that it still continues to rule and that for this reason in some way he is responsible for conserving or destroying it.
On the other hand, this is a word that refers to the conviction of the existence of divine beings or deities. According to theism, God is "a living being" who has the power to influence what can happen to the world over the years and also to the men who inhabit it. It is important to bear in mind that a God is considered as such when one believes in a supernatural being capable of equally superhuman and wonderful powers such as the fact of being able to give or take life. This word was born in ancient Greece when they believed and had faith in the Greek gods belonging to Olympus, but later it was taking different meanings in different regions due to the diversity of beliefs of one or more gods due to the variety of religions and also due to the different aptitudes attributed to each of these gods.
Linked to theism there are several terms that accompany it, such as Deism, which indicates that the god or gods who created the universe have not intervened in it since its creation. For deists, the manifestation of God is through supernatural laws that can be analyzed through science.. On the other hand, there is Non-theism in which no god is believed, but in some other spiritual presence, for example Buddhism belongs to this type of religion where they believe and practice the teachings of Buddha who was also a being human. And theism itself, where there is a God who created the universe and also intervenes directly in it, here we can highlight the monotheism that admits the presence of a single god as in Catholicism or Judaism and polytheism where it is stated that there are several gods such as Hinduism. This is the true acceptance of this term since the seventeenth century, that is, the use of the term theism was limited until reaching the one that admits a personal, transcendent and creative God.
