Typhoon Haiyan was the name that received a powerful storm, which hit the Philippines in a significant way, which according to meteorological experts is classified as the most imposing and devastating in the history of that country. The hurricane-force winds that occurred during the typhoon reached 315 kilometers per hour, gusts that even exceeded 380 and waves reached six meters high and managed to cover several cities. A bit sad fact is that in its wake this storm left almost 10,000 people dead. An important fact to highlight is that this is considered the most intense cyclone to make landfalland the second most intense with respect to the speed reached by its sustained winds in one minute.
The storm formed from an area of low pressure a few kilometers east-southeast of Pohnpei, Micronesiaon November 2, 2013.
