It is known as the Tower of Babel to an iconic building mentioned in the book of Genesis in the old testament, history tells how this tower was built by men in ancient times and that in many regions it is usually associated with the historical ziggurat called Etemenanki which was located in the ancient city of Babylon. This building, had at its top a kind of altar in commemoration of Marduk, initially it had seven floors and more than 90 meters high. From a religious point of view, experts point out that this story is a fable, in which the pride and arrogance of man is described, and of an angry god. A very interesting fact is that it is of great importance since according to what is said, it is in that place where the beginning of the diffusion of languages and communication itself takes place, in an event full of confusion.
It should be noted that the Tower of Babel not only represents a key building within the Judeo-Christian tradition, since it also belongs to the universal ideology and its history has managed to be maintained through the centuries. However, it should be noted that the legend of the tower rests on a reality, since there are those who consider that this building did exist in the city of Babylon, a building that had several floors and whose origin is unknown, this was restored in times of Nabopolassar who was the founder of the Chaldean dynasty.
Such construction was known under the name of Etemenanki, which can be interpreted as the mansion of the top between heaven and earth, reason why it relates to the main interpretations that appear in chapter 11 of the book of Genesis, which talks about the construction of the tower, that the men aimed to reach Heaven. According to inscriptions dating from the time of Nabopolassar indicate that: " the great god of Babylon would have ordered Nabopolassar to create this building so that he could reach heaven." Which agrees with the biblical story. Another inscription, from the time of Nebuchadnezzar II, it is said that the decoration of the cusp was made from bricks of bright blue enamel, that is, adorned with a color similar to the sky, so that in this way it could blend in to give the impression that the building is touching heaven.
