The term of transport comes from the Latin words trans , "to the other side", and portare , "to carry"; It is a means of moving people or goods from one place to another, and is considered an activity in the tertiary sector. Transportation enables economic growth and development possibilities for a nation. Millions of freight movements are carried out in the world every day, transport facilitates commercial exchange between regions and countries, and economic activities are favored if the means of transport are good, fast, safe and cheap.

Generally, the transport of goods and people is carried out through the following routes: aquatic (oceans, seas, lakes and rivers), where boats, ships, submarines, boats, ferries and motorboats predominate. The terrestrial (roads, highways and railways), in it are cars, buses, mopeds, trucks, trains, railways, subways and vans. And finally; the aerial one, where we see airplanes, light aircraft, helicopters, hydroplanes, balloons and rockets.

It should be noted that there is also a particular route that is by pipeline, in it are the oil pipelines, huge long pipes that transport oil from the oil fields to the refineries, consumption centers and shipping ports. Gas pipelines are built to transport natural gas.

Means of transport can be classified according to how many people they transport: individual (a single person) or collective (many people, for example: trains and planes). Another function is according to its property, it would be talking about private transport (belonging to a person or company), for example, the family car, or public (belonging to the State), for example, the subway.
