The polygon is a flat figure that is bounded by segments. Among the different types of polygons are triangles: polygons made up of three segments (sides).
On the other hand, triangles are a type of polygon whose differential characteristic is that it is made up of three sides. A triangle is created by linking or joining three straight lines, which will be the sides of this geometric figure, while the mentioned sides are at points called vertices.
There are two ways to classify triangles, one that is linked to the extent of their sides and the other depends on the width of their angles.
The latter proposes the following types: rectangle (it has a right internal angle that is determined by two sides called legs, which is the third side known as the hypotenuse), acute angle (the three internal angles are acute, that is, they measure less than 90 °) and obtuse (only one of its angles is obtuse, that is, it measures more than 90 °).
Meanwhile, the one associated with the extension of the sides generates these: equilateral, isosceles and scalene, the type that we will occupy next.
In the case of scalene triangles, they are those that have three sides of different lengths. In other words: all three sides are different.
This particularity differentiates scalene triangles from equilateral triangles (the three sides measure the same) and isosceles triangles (they have two equal sides). Scale triangles, on the other hand, contain three interior angles that are all different as well.
It is important to note that the triangles that make up the longitude classification are the following: equilateral triangle, isosceles triangle and scalene triangle, however, due to the amplitude of their angles, the following triangles are observed: right, oblique, obtuse and acute.
Compared to the scalene triangle, the equilateral triangle is identified because its sides are equal and the isosceles triangle has only two sides of the same length. In turn, the right triangle has a right interior angle, that is, 90 °; An oblique angle triangle is identified because none of its angles is right; An obtuse triangle is observed when it has an obtuse interior angle greater than 90 ° and the others are acute less than 90 °, and the acute triangle is observed when its 3 interior angles are less than 90 °.
