Unix is one of the most revolutionary operating systems that existed in the golden age of computers (late 1960s and early 1970s). Developed by Bell Laboratories, under the responsibility of AT&T. Its main attribute is that it was a multi-tasking operating system, capable of "Opening several programs" not simultaneously, but the operating systems that existed at that time were only dedicated to one thing, this stood out for being "Multitasking" and portable, a feature that was adopted over time after AT&T byspending problems ignored the project.
Its history of evolution is very interesting, the development work of this platform lasted more than 20 years, even going through the hands of companies like Apple. The Unix Operating System initially called UNICS (Uniplex Information and Computing System) executed very simple tasks, then it went on to effectively reproduce a word processor and to be the operating system of different university complexes that kept data and records on their computers. In 1972 the UNIX programmers decided to start with a new code based on the Programming Language, this allowed many developers to join the projectFor them to create their applications, this would give way to the creation of an important ecosystem of applications that would be commercially adopted in home computers that were distributed in the 70s.
In 1991, the Linux Operating System was created on the basis of Unix, an open source operating system with which anyone could develop their own versions of it. Linux emulated all the UNIX functions in a more free way and began to work in a more customizable interface for the user. Nowadays UNIX, after a series of legal problems, was separated from its own development areas that generated it and remained as the Linux platform and other operating systems such as that of Apple's MAC computers. UNIX is today a Standard ofprogramming that the different companies that design operating systems must comply with.
