The word Vacancy is used to define a position that is free, vacant is a position that is generally occupied and that to find its respective occupant it is said that it is vacant or available. This term is basically applied in the world of work, where job vacancies are the most sought after by interested people. To fill a job vacancy it is important to take into account that the person who is going to fill that vacancy has the characteristics and profile necessary to carry out the tasks that are done there.
It is also common to associate this adjective when there is a free vacancy due to the lack of it that occupies it, I explain with an example: on a trip to the beach the bus in which we were going has 12 seats, but Leonardo at the last minute injured his knee and he cannot go, therefore the position is vacant. In a hierarchical scale, vacancies do not last long, because in the event that the one at the top of that scale resigns or has to leave the position, the one who follows him in command will occupy his position with the same functions and virtues.
In the religious sphere, there is talk of a vacant seat, when the position of the pope is free, either by cessation or as is more common by death. Also when a high-ranking position, not just the Vatican, is vacant until another bishop or person from Catholicism takes its place. In the aspect of law, it is known as a vacant asset that which has no known owner.
