When referring to the term poison, it seeks to describe all kinds of chemical substances that can be harmful to the well-being of any living being, this can be solid, liquid or gaseous, and whose effects if it comes into contact with it, they can generate a disease, injury, or alterations in any of the systems that the organism presents, even in extreme cases it can cause death. These types of substances are characterized mainly because they trigger or inhibit a chemical reaction, for which they do is adhere to an enzyme more strongly than the normal reagent.

As mentioned, the poison can appear in different states, that is, gaseous, solid and liquid, and after it enters the organism in question, it affects it, wreaking havoc on the normal functioning of some of the organism's systems, such as the digestive, nervous, or reproductive system, since its toxicity is extremely high.

One of the main characteristics of venom is that it has the ability to inhibit or trigger a chemical reaction. That said, it is important to note that despite the fact that many of the substances that are consumed daily, if they are supplied in high doses, are capable of causing poisoning, in the case of poison, the effect that occurs is even stronger and more forceful. that generally only minimal doses are needed to trigger serious consequences in the body, which can even end in the death of the affected person.

It should be taken into account that although there are no specific therapeutic techniques to appease the effects of the poison, it is possible that specific antidotes are developed for some types of poisons, whose main objective is basically to counteract its action.

At present the types of poisons that exist are very varied, however among the most dangerous, especially for man, they are mentioned below;

  • Botulinum toxin: in itself this poison becomes very dangerous if ingested, since it generates a collapse in the nervous system and causes a rather painful death. It is important to note that this substance has been used in very frequent beauty treatments in the last decade, and is popularly known as botox;
  • Ricin: highly dangerous if ingested or inhaled, as it attacks the respiratory system and internal organs, causing the death of the affected person.
