Venus is a planet that belongs to the solar system and is the third largest in terms of size in ascending order, it is a planet that has no natural satellites and its name comes from the goddess of love of Roman origin, Venus.
It is a very rocky planet according to studies done by NASA to the point that it receives the name or is often called the sister planet of the Earth, since both have similar characteristics regarding size, mass and composition, however they are very different in the atmospheric realm. Venus has the most circular orbit in the entire solar system with a 1% eccentricity and has an atmospheric pressure almost one hundred times greater than that of planet Earth.
This planet, which is further from the sun than Mercury, has a much hotter atmosphere, since it maintains heat for much longer due to the layer of greenhouse gases that covers it. A curious fact about Venus is that it has the longest day with respect to the other planets, 243 days to be more specific, and its rotary movement goes in an anti-clockwise direction, just like sunrise, since it exits the west and is hidden on the east side.
The term Venus is also the name of one of the most important goddesses of Roman times, which represented love, beauty and fertility. This goddess was compared to the Greek goddess Aphrodite, given their similarity in terms of powers. However, Venus did not have a personality as marked as that of Aphrodite who was characterized by being sensual, although the Roman goddess had very symbols of her such as the golden apple of discord.
