Viviparous is a term that derives from the Latin language, more specifically from the word “vivipărus” and is used to designate a type of living being whose embryonic development takes place in the uterine womb of the female (mother), in a special structure Through which the embryo is fed and provided with the necessary resources for its normal development until the moment of its birth. Development within the mother's womb is what makes it possible for the individual to be born fully developed.
Viviparous beings, as a general rule, must develop inside the mother's womb, to be more specific in the placenta (membrane that protects the fetus and through which the energy exchange between mother and fetus takes place, allowing its correct formation.). There are specific cases where individuals are formed outside the placenta, as an example we can mention kangaroos, which after they give birth, their young continue their development inside a bagthat the mother possesses specifically for it. According to experts, viviparous beings emerged as a defense mechanism for living beings to provide protection to their young, since being developed inside their mother could be better protected from the different risks that lurked outside.
Its reproduction process begins when the ovum is fertilized, later the development of the embryo will begin, which will remain within the placental structure, despite the fact that many species are considered viviparous with regard to the formation of the fetus, there may be variations from one species to another. Finally and after the fetus is fully developed, it will be expelled, giving rise to a new way of life. A rather interesting peculiarity is the existence of plants belonging to this genus, this occurs at the moment in which the seeds of certain plants sprout at the moment in which they are still attached to the mother plant, according to botanical experts, this type of phenomena is an exception within the natural world.
