The yernocracy is in the political sphere represents a manifestation of nepotism, understood as the favoritism of some rulers by their relatives to run for public office. In the case of the yernocracy, this preference is specifically towards applicants married to the daughters of influential personalities.
This word is intended to indicate the fact that family members or friends are assigned to jobs, simply because they have some kind of friendship or kinship, without taking into consideration the experience or ability to hold such positions.
Generally, this phenomenon is gaining more ground every day not only in the political environment but in the business environment, it is very common that preference is given to people with some kind of kinship to qualify for positions of trust within the organization.
As has been mentioned, the yernocracy is a practice that originates anywhere in the world, which can occur to a greater or lesser extent, depending on the historical moment and the political, economic and professional development of each country or sector of society.
Among the points in favor that this practice may have, is the expression of loyalty or fidelity towards family and friends, choosing people from their family nucleus because they are trusted to be around either to work in public or private positions. For example, it is very common for a manager to hire people from his family environment to be able to leave the responsibility of everything he has. The same happens in public office, a governor or mayor, must be surrounded by people who they can trust, who do not betray him or who have interests different from yours, which could harm them at any given time.
Among the negative aspects, it can be said that a society that remains indefinitely under the exercise of the yernocracy is a society that does not evolve. Yernocracy implies that the person is chosen not for his talent and training, but because he has family ties with someone of importance.
In this case, the merit is not evaluated, so the quality of the work may not be the best, since people with little or no capacity to perform the work are placed.
