The word shoe comes from the Turkish "zabata". The royal academy defines shoe as footwear or slipper, whose height does not exceed the ankle, with a lower part that has a leather sole or other material and the rest of said footwear is made of leather, felt, cloth or other fabric. In other words, a shoe is a piece of clothing, used by people in order to protect their feet while they walk, or perform different tasks, but in addition to that, they are currently used as a decoration element. Traditionally in ancient times, shoes were made of leather, wood or fabric, but over the years, they changed these materials for rubber and plastic.
The history of shoes dates back to 7000 BC in the United States where the first shoe was found, rather a sandal, but it was not until 3500 BC that shoes made of leather began to be used. The designs of these first footwear were not complex at all, they were just leather-based “foot bags” to protect the feet from the cold, rocks and debris. But it was from the Middle Ages that shoes began to be made with different materials for the best adaptation of the foot. By the seventeenth century, the shoe in Europe was synonymous with nobility, and many artists created shoes with new and different styles for their masters; finally in the middle of the 20th centuryThanks to technological advances, they began to create these shoes with other types of materials.
