3D Scanner app, 3D mapping
Well, we have to say that not in all iPhone this application works. It will only work on those that have the LiDAR sensor which, as of today, the iPhone 12 PRO, Pro MAX, have iPhone 13 PRO, Pro MAX and 2020 iPad PRO .
If you don't know what a LiDAR sensor is, tell you that it is a system that allows the precise measurement of distances by emitting pulses of light (invisible to the human eye). It fires a pulse of light, measures the time it takes to bounce back to the iPhone and sends it to a processor. There, the data of a cloud of points generated from the different shots made by the LiDAR are interpreted to know the exact distance to a plane or object. All this process is carried out in "nanoseconds" and generates a 3D map of what we focus on.
That is why there are apps that take advantage of this technology to map in 3D, as we show you today in this article.
3D Scanner App performs a 3D mapping of everything we focus on with the iPhone:
As you can see in the screenshots that we can see in the App Store, anything can be mapped:

We downloaded it and after testing it thoroughly for a few hours, we understood how it works. And we say this because there are different ways to map and render that 3D mapping that we get by pressing the Scan button. In the following image you can see the mapping we did of a friend's kitchen.

But not only that. We scan, the first time, without leaving the site. We stood still in the center of the kitchen and rotated around ourselves to create the 3D image. But it is not necessary, since the LiDAR sensor is creating the 3D map directly while we are focusing. Here you have a sample of a floor mapping.

But the thing is not here. Once the scan is done and the rendering is executed, we will be able to navigate inside that 3D map and even see it in augmented reality.
We can say that we can do what many real estate sales websites show us. Those floors rendered in 3D that we can see at will from apps like, for example, idealista.
It also allows us to send the 3D image by messaging, email to anyone we want to share it with.
Without a doubt, a magnificent application that allows us to take advantage of the forgotten LiDAR sensor.
