For a long time there has been a rule in the Apple world that is well known to all and that has to do with the App Store and Christmas. We are talking about the “closure” of the App Store during the Christmas period in the United States.
This rule means that between December 24 and 31, the App Store is "closed" to developers. And that is why they cannot upload anything to Connect, meaning that during this period there are no updates or new applications in the application store.

But from what it seems, this year this rule will not be met. Or at least not too much. As Apple seems to have reported to the developers, during the Christmas period of 2021 App Store Connect will continue to work.
This means that developers will be able to continue to submit their apps and updates to the App Store and users will be able to both update our existing apps on our device and download new apps that appear in the app store.

Of course, Apple has reported that the operation of Connect and App Store will not be the same as the rest of the year . In other words, the operation and review of Connect and App Store will be reduced, so the review and acceptance periods for apps and updates will increase .
We don't really know what this move by Apple could be due to, thus breaking an existing rule for some time. But although we are facing a rather striking movement, it can be quite beneficial for developers and users since it could allow the correction of errors and app failures through updates.
