What's new in iOS 15.1 (Image: @AppleSWUpdates)
Many new features that were presented at the Apple event of the month of June, where they talked about everything new that would come with iOS 15 , were not released with the first version of this new iOS. Many of us were a little devastated to find out, but finally, we already have them available in version 15.1.
Next we are going to name everything new that comes to iPhone and iPad, since this version corresponds to iPadOS 15.1, with this new update.
What's new in iOS 15.1 and iPadOS 15.1:
SharePlay:
- SharePlay is a new way to share synced FaceTime experiences with content from the Apple TV app, Music, and other compatible App Store apps. We can, for example, watch movies with other people who are in another part of the world.
- Shared controls allow everyone to play, pause, rewind, or fast forward the content.
- Smart Volume automatically lowers the audio of the playing movie, TV show, or song when someone is speaking.
- Apple TV offers the option to view the shared video on the big screen while still on the FaceTime call on iPhone.
- Screen sharing allows everyone on a FaceTime call to view photos, browse the web, or help each other with whatever they need.
Camera:
- ProRes video capture with iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
- Setting to disable auto-switch to macro when taking photos or videos on iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Apple Wallet:
Support for COVID-19 vaccination records allows you to add and display verifiable vaccination information from within the Apple Wallet app.
Translate:
Mandarin Chinese (Taiwan) support in the app and integrated translation function throughout the system.
Home:
New automation triggers based on the current reading from a HomeKit-compatible lighting, air quality, or humidity level sensor.
Shortcuts:
New pre-programmed actions that allow you to overlay text over images or GIFs.
This version also fixes the following bugs:
- The Photos app could incorrectly indicate that storage was full when importing photos and videos.
- The Weather app may not display the current temperature at the user's location or may incorrectly display the colors of animated backgrounds.
- Audio playback from an app could pause when locking the screen.
- The Wallet app could crash when using VoiceOver with multiple swipes.
- Available Wi-Fi networks might not be detected.
- Updated battery algorithms on iPhone 12 models to better estimate battery capacity over time.
How to install iOS 15.1:
The updates to iOS 15.1 are free to download and the software is available on all compatible devices wirelessly in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings/General/Software update .
Without a doubt, an update loaded with interesting news of which, a large handful, many of us had been waiting for since September.
Greetings.
