Gives priority to calls from some contacts
We all know that iOS has functions that allow you to filter some incoming calls. We can block contacts to avoid their calls but we can also configure the phone to only receive calls from the contacts we want and at the times we want.
One of these features is "Do Not Disturb Mode". Thanks to it we can prevent our mobile from ringing while we have this option activated. But we can also configure it so that our mobile rings according to the contact that calls us.
Apart from this there is a somewhat hidden function that also allows us to filter calls and this is “Emergency exception” .
Thanks to these functions that we have mentioned, we can prioritize calls to our mobile, as it suits us.
We already discussed this topic in our Podcast. If you want to hear it, click on the following link: MaitoTIPS
Create a call priority in your iPhone contacts:
Manage call priority on your iPhone
I'm going to talk to you from my point of view and how I have it, personally, organized.
I have my contacts divided into three groups:
- All my contacts
- My favorites
- Important.
When I have my iPhone without Do Not Disturb mode activated, any contact or person I don't have in my phonebook can contact me.
But that's not always the case, as there are times when the iPhone must be silent for some reason. But it may be that even if it is silent or with the "Do not disturb mode", you are interested in answering calls from some of your contacts, right?
Have calls ring you when you're in Do Not Disturb mode:
If I have the "Do not disturb mode" active, anyone can call me, but I have configured that the call only rings if it is a contact cataloged by me, as a favorite. Among them are my best friends and close family.
To configure them as favorites we enter our contact list, click on the one we want to make a favorite and that's it.
Now, for it to ring even when we have do not disturb mode activated, we have to go to Settings/Do not disturb mode and in the "Phone" section we have to enable the "Favorites" option.
Activate FAVORITES on calls with iPhone in Do Not Disturb Mode
By doing this, even if we have the Do Not Disturb mode activated, any person cataloged by you as a favorite will make your iPhone ring. All other calls will be muted.
Make the phone ring even with silent mode activated:
This setting is where my important contacts come in. Among them are my parents, my brothers and my wife.
These people, even though I have the silent mode of the iPhone activated (which is activated by lowering the tab that we can find on the iPhone's volume buttons), if they call me, the mobile will ring.
To give these people that priority, you must follow the steps that we show you in the following tutorial. In it we teach you how to configure your contacts as Emergency Exception .
Among the important ones, we can also add that of people who may need help at some point, such as sick people, companies that can call you to offer you a job .
We have already told you that this tutorial is based on our experience and, obviously, you can adapt it to your life. What we want to make clear is that thanks to the functions of iOS, we can establish a call priority on our iPhone.
We hope we have helped you and, above all, that you found today's tutorial interesting.
Greetings.
