Siri is expected to improve in iOS 13.2
The virtual assistant for Apple devices, Siri, has been improving over the years. With the Shortcuts it has improved even more, but it is a reality that it is somewhat behind its direct competitors. Apple seems to know this and has made some statements in which it assures that it will improve Siri in the near future.
Specifically, this new improvement that would arrive soon, Siri would learn from us and from the applications that we use the most. More specifically, the apps for instant messaging and the apps to make calls.
These improvements are expected to arrive with iOS 13.2 or future versions before the end of 2019
This way, Siri would know which apps we use the most and which one we mean when we tell it to perform an action. Currently, if we ask it to call or send a message, by default it uses the native apps Phone and Messaging
But users may not make use of them. And use alternatives like Whatsapp to call and send messages. With the learning that they want to integrate into Siri, it would know that the app the user uses to call and send messages is Whatsapp
Settings Hey Siri
So, when we tell it to carry out an action related to messages or calls, Siri it would directly understand that we want to use the app we use the most. With this, speed and efficiency are achieved, since we would not have to add the tag line «WhatsApp«, when giving the order to Siri.
For this integration to take place, developers would simply have to apply a few changes to their app. Changes that they are very likely to make since the more their apps are used, the better for them. This integration is expected to arrive before the end of the year, so there will be no waiting for iOS 14
