iPad Keyboard Case
Today we bring you one of the accessories for iPad that make this tablet compete face to face with laptops.
For the iPad to completely replace them, there is still a long way to go. Little by little Apple is implementing improvements that each time make its tablet more productive and competitive against computers, but there are still things to improve.
Knowing this and keeping it very much in mind, we have taken the leap to convert our iPad 2018 into our mobile device with which to work away from home. For this we have acquired a cover with a keyboard.
We warn you that the case we are talking about is compatible with 5th and 6th generation iPads. At the end of the article we will recommend more keyboards for other models.
Logitech iPad Keyboard Case:
The accessory is packaged in this box.
iPad Keyboard Case Case
Inside comes the keyboard protected by some plastic, the tab that we must remove so that the batteries make it work and a small document where the synchronization instructions are exposed.
iPad Installation:
The case adapts perfectly to the dimensions of the iPad. This fits easily in the part indicated for it. We say this because we have had covers that have required skill and strength to be able to put them on the tablet.
The frame where the tablet goes is magnetized. This means that when you close the case, it stays completely closed when it hits the keyboard frame.
Link iPad to keyboard:
It's very simple. Below we explain the steps you must follow:
- Access the iPad's Bluetooth menu.
- Press the Bluetooth button for 2 seconds.
- When the iPad detects the keyboard, a code will appear that we must type on the keyboard. It is VERY IMPORTANT after entering the number, press INTRO/ENTER.
We're telling you this because it took us quite a while to bind it since we didn't press that key.
The keyboard:
Cover
The keyboard is powered by batteries. According to the product instructions, they last a whopping 48 months. Obviously this autonomy will depend on the use we make of it.
The keys are not backlit, which we miss but that is solved, to a certain extent, with the lighting provided by the screen of the tablet screen.
The touch of the keys is very good. They are a bit hard to press, which I personally appreciate.
The keys that replace the famous “F”, provide a plus of utility. They allow you to lock the iPad, increase and decrease volume, make the keyboard appear on the screen, have your own HOME button .
The upper keys are very useful
Using this keyboard case:
The iPad to be able to use it with the keyboard, it fits perfectly since it adheres to a magnet that is just above the keys above. It literally sticks together and it is almost impossible for the tablet to slip or fall.
Keyboard Mounted
By taking the form of an open laptop, keyboard usage is fantastic. It works much better than we could have ever imagined.
We recommend purchasing a stylus. The ideal is to have the 1st generation Apple Pencil, but if you cannot afford it, you can always opt for a lower priced one. We use the Meko pencil and it comes in handy for interacting with the screen. In addition, the cover has a department where you can leave it.
Negative things about this keyboard:
The only thing we didn't like about this keyboard case is how badly the iPad is used when we don't want to use the keyboard.
Putting the iPad vertically is almost impossible. The part of the keyboard slips, which makes the case unbalanced and annoying to use.
Using the tablet horizontally is somewhat more bearable, but it also becomes very uncomfortable. This means that we have to remove the iPad from the case in order to use it.
Also comment that it is something heavy. The keyboard plus the iPad goes to 917 grams.
Our final opinion on this iPad keyboard:
It's just what we needed. It has far exceeded our expectations. We didn't think that a keyboard could give our iPad so much utility, which was already very useful to us. We are very, very happy.
Removing the negative side, which can be solved by removing the iPad from the case, it is a keyboard that we recommend you buy if you have a iPad from 5th or 6th generation.
