In April Apple announced that more banks would soon join Apple Pay, and it appears to be following through.

Bankia is now compatible with Apple Pay

When Apple announced that more banks would soon join Apple Pay three of them stood out:

  • Bankia
  • BBVA
  • Banco Sabadell

They stood out for being three large banks in Spain that had not yet joined Apple Pay.

Today we received the news that Bankia is finally compatible with Apple Pay.

At the moment, we cannot find any official information on the Bankia website.

The news has spread through the Twitter social network, where some users already show how they have been able to activate their Master Cards.

We hope that throughout the day Bankia will make an official statement through its website or its official social networks.

Payment methods

Bankia users can now go to the Wallet application to include their debit and/or credit cards from said entity.

To add the cards you just have to go to the native application of Apple Wallet and click on the + on the top right.

A screen will open with information about the uses that Apple will make of the data, you can only click on continue.

To add the card, simply scan it, that is, frame your card in the rectangle on the screen so that the iPhone detects it.

Then fill in the data and that's it! You already have your card at Apple Pay.

If you see that it gives you problems when scanning it, you can enter it manually. To do this, click on “enter the data manually” that appears at the bottom of the screen and write in all the boxes requested.

You can make payments with the iPhone and the Apple Watch, as usual with the Apple Pay method .

Something extremely comfortable not having to take the card out of the purse, bag or backpack.

Simply take your phone out of your pocket or bring the Apple Watch closer.

Next entities

With Bankia there are already 19 confirmed entities that can make payments with Apple Pay.

As planned, the next entities to join should be BBVA , Banco Sabadell and BancaMarch .

Entities that are also expected to be supported later this summer.
