Bug on Whatsapp
On the past May 11th we told you about a bug in WhatsApp that showed, whether we wanted it or not, the name of the sender of a message.
This bug was fixed in version 2.18.52 on May 16th. In fact, seeing the controversy generated and how upset many users of this app were, we made a video explaining how to configure WhatsApp notifications on the lock screen.
Well, with the new version 2.18.61 , the error APPEARS AGAIN!!!.
The bug HAS BEEN FIXED, as we mentioned at the end of the article. We clarify that, for a few hours, the error has occurred. If it happens to you, we recommend you reset notifications from -> WhatsApp>Settings>Notifications>Reset Notifications
When a person does not want anyone to see the name of the person who has written a message, in the lock screen notification, turn off the preview of messages from WhatsappThis causes it to just show a notification as shown below:
Old notification with preview off
Since the last WhatsApp update this doesn't happen.
The name of the person who sent you the message appears, even if we have disabled the Whatsapp and/or iOS preview option:
Now, every time we receive a message on the lock screen of our iPhone, the notification will appear in this way, revealing the sender's name
New notification with preview off
The content does not appear, but the person's name does not. It is a detail that is causing harm among some users of Whatsapp.
Thanks to Banier GarcĂa , we have reported this bug again. From here many thanks to this follower for the information provided.
In that case Banier sent an email to WhatsApp support, which you can read in the article linked at the beginning of the article, in which he explained the problem. Said support quickly responded and after a few hours they released the update that corrected that bug. We were all surprised at the speed of the correction.
In this case we don't know if our follower has sent the mail again. Just in case he didn't, we just sent him. We hope they are as effective as last time and correct the bug again as soon as possible.
And does this bug bother you?
