QR codes have been around for a long time, in various applications, but they haven't been very successful. Its use is less and less.
Aesthetically they are not very visual, in black and white, and full of dots and lines.
QR codes are coming to Instagram
As you read, Instagram is preparing a new feature that seems to be coming soon.
The last update included the portrait mode within the same application, Focus. From Stories it allows you to take selfies with the background out of focus.
It seems that the news on this social network is non-stop.
On Instagram they will be called Nametag
As we explained, QR codes reach Instagram, but embellished.
It's practically the same as what we already have on Snapchat, the so-called “Snapcode” or on Facebook Messenger with the “Messenger codes ”, so that in itself is not something new.
On Instagram these QR codes will be called Nametag.
QR Codes come to Instagram
The idea is that we can advertise our Instagram account in a faster and above all visual way.
As well as in Snapchat they were successful in Messenger no, we don't know if it will be well received in Instagram .
How will they work?
Well, when they tell you “tell me your name on instagram”, you will show them the Nametag and they will scan it.
By scanning the Nametag you will connect directly with the account that created it. You will be able to make your account known to other users in an easy and fun way.
In addition, they can be used in other social networks, even send them by message, or if you want to take it to the real world, to the off-line world, you can print them.
They can be configured and customized, you can choose the color, the filters or the emojis to create your own.
The name of the creator of the Nametag will appear in the center of the code.
This feature is currently only in beta and there is no scheduled release date.
How do you see it? Do you think it will be useful?
