The term high pressure can have different notions, this will depend on the context in which it is applied, one of the most used in the field of meteorology, here high pressure is defined as the distribution of the atmospheric pressure area, in where the central part shows a higher pressure than the surrounding environment.
In high pressure meteorology it is also known as an anticyclone. The high pressure air located is much more stable than that in adjacent, the air tends to go down from the top of the atmosphere to reach the level of the soil, resulting in a phenomenon called subsidence.
The high pressure causes situations of stable weather and lack of rain since subsidence restricts the formation of clouds.
In the field of medicine, high pressure has to do with a very serious condition, which consists of the progressive increase in blood pressure through the arteries. Pressure is the force that makes the blood flow through the arteries, this pressure rises with each heartbeat.
High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, but it can cause serious health problems such as heart failure, kidney failure, stroke, heart attacks, etc.
